The MOMENTUM RCT study is a post-market, prospective randomized controlled study comparing Duramesh™ with polydioxanone suture for laparotomy closure.
Duramesh™ mesh suture combines the handling characteristics of traditional suture with a mesh polyfilament design, addressing the surgical complication of suture pull-through. This study is intended to demonstrate the non-inferiority of a Duramesh™ laparotomy closure to a polydioxanone closure for surgical site events and superiority for incisional hernia formation after laparotomy. This study aims to recruit a total of 230 patients.
